Fauna of Knocklofty
By Lansdowne Crescent Primary School
A huge array of fauna has been identified on Knocklofty. The range includes birds, reptiles, mammals and frogs. Over the last two decades, the
Bushcare Group, Friends of Knocklofty, have planted over 30,000 plants, designed to restore native plants to areas disturbed by quarrying, grazing and weed growth and also to provide habitat for the various fauna species living in the reserve. Animals living in the Knocklofty Reserve include the Eastern quoll, Eastern barred bandicoot, pademelon, Bennett's wallaby, Long-nosed potoroo, Lesser long-eared bat, Brown tree frog, Blue-tongue lizard and Tiger snake, just to name a few.
